WANT A PRINT OF THIS CARTOON?

Last year in one of my weekly letters that I send to my online community, The Lasting Supper (join us!), I was reflecting on belief and how it has changed so dramatically over the years. In fact, I don't use the word belief anymore to describe my inner life or thoughts. Here's a section of what I wrote to my friends there:
"I used to be inside a cup of belief. But now what I know fills the sea! I do not throw away that cup of water I used to believe. Rather, it gets subsumed into the sea. The sea embraces it all. I do not reject it. It gets absorbed into all that I am. All that we are. All that is."
Everything is subsumed. Everything is assimilated.
