Clocks or People
I haven't posted anything the last couple of days except my cartoons. I'm sorry. Sometimes I just have no control over my schedule. Well, maybe what I mean to say is that I wish to have no control over it. The way I experience pastoral ministry is feast or famine. Some days I could shoot a tractor through the middle of my life and not hit anyone. Sometimes I enjoy those days, other times I get lonely. Then there are days when I can't seem to get a minute to myself. Seriously, a couple of weeks ago things got so hectic and crazy that I didn't have time to shower for three days. Peculiarly, I found myself comfortably alone the fourth day. Behold, he stinketh!
But I think this is how life is supposed to be. Life's like that. You can't control it. You can't manage people's problems. You can't orchestrate circumstances. So, I take this feast or famine as the ebb and flow of real life. This is just how it is. And it has been flowing this week. I haven't hardly had a minute to myself. But that's okay. Because my life is not about serving a clock, but people.
