This is a watercolor painting I completed yesterday, based on this photo I took across the river last week. Here's a poem I've written to go with it, called, "Over There":
No, things are hardly ever clear. There are times that I can barely see. Like through the mist and through the fog, the shore suggests itself through tears. But I've been on that side before. So I know it actually waits over there. I don't have to dream or wonder much, but stop and take time to remember. I know my feet have walked that land. I've taken in its air and light. So because I am not over there now, I will not solely trust my sight.
