It betrays our ignorance when we say, "Clearly, the bible says...".

Because it's NOT clear.

What's clear to us is what we BELIEVE the bible says.

We choose to believe what we believe.

Consciously or unconsciously.

An important component of personal growth is recognizing this.

Then we must find the courage to investigate what's really true.
